Charles Stahle, 56, father of Mrs. Dan Shima, died of a heart attack at his home in Bettendorf Oct. 3. Funeral services were held Oct. 6 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic church, Bettendorf, with burial in Mt. Calvary cemetery.

Born in Solon, Mr. Stahle married Ethel Umbdenstock in 1933. The couple lived in Bettendorf, where he was employed by J. I. Case.

He is survived by his wife, 4 daughters, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Mackin, Bettendorf; Mrs. Merle (Janet) Wendhausen, Davenport; Mrs. Dan (Delores) Shima, Tipton and Ethel, at home; a son, Gerald; 13 grandchildren, 3 sisters, Mrs. Leo Kasparek, Solon; Mrs. Leone Kemp, Cedar Rapids and Mrs. George Scott, Indianola and 4 brothers, Michael and Ralph both of Cedar Rapids, Alfred, Tipton and Leo, Stanwood.
