Funeral services for Ernest William Lentfer, 66, Bennett, were held Sept. 2 at St. Paul Lutheran church, Bennett with the Rev. Paul Mueller officiating. Burial was in Inland cemetery.

Pallbearers were William Lenker, Roger Schroeder, Vernon Puls, Vernon and Erwin Voss and Emil Seebeck. Curtis Schroeder was organist and Kathy Ahrens, vocalist. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Frost and Mrs. Clarence Lenker were in charge of flowers.

Mr. Lentfer died of a heart attack at his home near Bennett Aug. 30.

The son of Ernest and Mary Ahrens Lentfer, he was born in Fairmont, Nebr. Jan. 27, 1900. He was married to Pearl Hubbard at Mason City, Nebr. The Lentfers had farmed in the Bennett community for many years and had retired from farming, but were still living on the family farm.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Leigh (Lorita) Bell, Bellport, N.Y.; 2 sons, Robert, Iowa City and Gary, at home; 2 sisters, Mrs. Edward (Sophia) Stoldorf, Davenport and Mrs. Louis (Freida) Lentfer, Herman, Minn. and 5 grandchildren.
