Charles W. Koser, 76, of West Branch died early Aug. 25 in Mercy Hospital at Iowa City after a long illness.

Mr. Koser was born April 19, 1890, in Johnson county, the son of Charles and Eunice Anciaux Koser. On Dec. 18, 1914, he was married to Irene Garvin at Tipton.

Until his retirement in 1955, he was employed by the Rock Island Railroad. He was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Hazel, at home; a sister, Mrs. Frances Kirchner of Coralville; and a brother, Ed, of Tuscon, Ariz.

One son, one brother and 2 sisters preceded him in death.
