Funeral services were held Aug. 12 at the Methodist church in West Branch for Mrs. Lula A. Gill, 80. The Rev. Roger Tappmeyer officiated, with burial at the West Branch cemetery.

Mrs. Gill, a former longtime resident of West Branch, died Aug. 9 at a Davenport hospital following a short illness.

Mrs. Gill was born Dec. 11, 1885, at St. Clairsville, Ohio, the daughter of Frank and Parley Collins Mead.

She was married at St. Clairsville Nov. 4, 1913 to Bert Gill.

Mrs. Gill had lived at West Branch most of her life, moving to Davenport to make her home some 20 years ago.

She was a member of St. John's Methodist church at Davenport and had taught Sunday school there. She also was a member of the West Branch chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, the Kings Daughter circle in Davenport and the Priscilla club.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. Alice Wadle of Davenport and Mrs. Lois Secrest of West Branch; a son, Fred Gill of Antioch, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Frances McKelvey of St. Clairsville; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
