Funeral services for John Culver Garey, 80, Tipton, were held June 29 at the Sheets and Son Funeral Home with burial in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. The Rev. Eugene Miller officiated.

Mr. Garey died Sunday at Mercy hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness.

Mr. Garey was born May 7, 1886, to George and Lucy Culver Garey. He was a lifetime resident of Tipton and operated a farm until his retirement.

Mr. Garey was a member of Moose Lodge #730 in Tipton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister. He is survived by his nephew, George Cary, Tipton.

Pallbearers were L. D. Suchomel, Walter Kier, Walter Eilers, Palmer Holden, George Tevis and William Dinse. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rismiller were in charge of flowers.
