Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Palmer, Downey, were held May 17 at the Snider funeral home in West Liberty with the Rev. Harlan Gant in charge. Burial was in the Downey cemetery.

Mrs. Palmer died May 15 at Springdale following a lingering illness.

The daughter of John and Lina Carstens Harder, she was born May 15, 1883 at Keystone and was married to Winfred L. Palmer at Belle Plaine Nov. 23, 1907. She had lived in Downey for 10 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jasper Oyler, Downey; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Breecke, Iowa City; a granddaughter, Mrs. Larry Streets, West Liberty and 2 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 2 sisters and a grandchild.
