Funeral services for George Wehde, 90, were held May 8 at the Sheets and Son funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Schenck in charge. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Harry and Harold Wehde, Herman Hass, Ben Schroder, Louis Stoltenberg and Frank Walton. Mrs. Arnold Swan was organist. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Stiff and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon McLearn were in charge of flowers.

Mr. Wehde died May 5 at University hospital, Iowa City, after a lingering illness.

The son of Detleff and Emma Goettsch Wehde, he was born Sept. 15, 1875, in Scott county and attended the rural Cedar county schools. He was married to Emma Kroger in Tipton Feb. 22, 1899.

He farmed for many years, retiring in 1930 and moving to Tipton.

He is survived by his wife, 2 sons, George Jr. and Raymond, Tipton; a daughter, Mrs. Lillian Hartman, Tipton; 2 brothers, Albert, Huntsville, Ala. and Frank, Wilton Junction; 2 sisters, Mrs. Betty Maurer, Fort Dodge and Mrs. Emma Hamman, Wilton Junction; 6 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
