Eugene “Gene” Henry Morrow, 85, of Tipton, passed into eternity on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Windmill Manor Nursing Home in Coralville, IA. On Wednesday, March 17, 2021, the First United Church of Christ, Tipton, IA, will host a Visitation at 12:00 pm and Funeral Service at 1:00 pm. Immediately following services, Eugene will be laid to rest, with full military honors, at the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. In memory of Eugene, a memorial fund has been established for The Alzheimer’s Foundation in honor of his late wife, Joyce.

Eugene, son of Walter Edward and Helen Marianne (Eggert) Morrow, was born on Wednesday, January 1, 1936 in Rock Island, IL. He graduated from Springdale High School with the Class of 1954. On January 6, 1955, Gene enlisted with the US Army, where he served his country stateside and overseas, until his Honorable discharge on December 17, 1957. On January 24, 1960, Gene was united in marriage to the love of his life, Joyce Gaylene Anderson. Gene was a mechanic, member of the First United Church of Christ, and had a love for cars that went on for years. He built race cars, stock cars and loved going to the drag races in Cordova, IL. He also attended the Indy 500 a few times.

Gene is survived by his two children, Gina Morrow of Fairfield, CA and Jeffrey (Lisa) Morrow of Surprise, AZ; brothers, James Morrow of Iowa city, IA and Warren Morrow of Alamo, TX; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Helen; wife, Joyce; brother, Gary Morrow; and great-granddaughter, Skylar Morrow.
