March 17, 1966 - The Tipton Conservative

Mrs. Lena M. Edgerton, 86, formerly of West Branch, died March 9 at Spencer after a lingering illness. Funeral services were March 14 at the Conservative Friends Meeting House, with burial in the West Branch cemetery.

Mrs. Edgerton was born July 12, 1879, at Chester Hill, Ohio, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Hobson.

She married Orlando Edgerton May 8, 1906 at Los Angeles. They lived in West Branch most of their married lives and moved to Spencer 3 years ago to live with a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Kenworthy.

Mrs. Edgerton was a member of the Conservative Friends Group, the Enlow Public Library, for which she was secretary for 37 years, and the W.C.T.U. which she served as secretary and president for the Cedar county chapter for many years.

She is survived by 2 sons, William, West Branch, and Edward, Sioux Falls, S.D.; two daughters, Mrs. Ramona Ervin, Centerville and Mrs. Kenworthy; a sister, Mrs. Mary Thompson, Paullina; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1965.
