Funeral services for Mrs. Viola Douglass, 58, West Branch, who was killed in an auto accident in Des Moines Jan. 15, were held Jan. 19 at the West Branch Methodist church with burial in the West Branch cemetery.

Mrs. Douglass was born Aug. 27, 1907, in Johnson county, the daughter of Glenn and Luella Allen Stevens.

She was married to Lee Douglass Jan. 1, 1931, in Iowa City. The couple farmed east of Iowa City.

She was a 1929 graduate of the University of Iowa, a member of the Methodist church of West Branch, Iowa City Rebekah Lodge No. 416, Good Samaritan Encampment Auxiliary No. 5, Old Capitol Auxiliary 29 of LAPM, Old Gold Theta Rho No. 1, North Scott Social circle, Woman's Society of Christian Service of the Methodist church and Phi Mu sorority.

Mrs. Douglass was active in 4-H work. She was a junior past grand scribe of the Grand LEA of Iowa (IOOF state women's organization).

Survivors include her husband, 2 daughters, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Allen, Iowa City and Mrs. Thomas (Mary Ann) Harris, Oxford; her mother of Iowa City; 2 sisters, Mrs. Donald (Helen) Cozine, Rose Mead, Calif., and Mrs. Daryl (Genevieve) Means, Iowa Cityk, and 1 grandson.
