Last rites for William Burdette Laing, 40, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home Dec.8 with the Rev. Ralph Schenck officiating. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery at Cedar Bluff.

Pallbearers were six uncles: James, John, George, Earl, Harold and Mearl Laing. Mrs. Richard Palmer was vocalist and Mrs. Irma Crawford organist. Mrs. Harold Laing and Mrs. James Laing were in charge of flowers.

Mr. Laing died Dec. 5 at the Utopia nursing home Dec.8, following a lingering illness.

The son of William and Daisy Niles Laing, he was born near Tipton July 10, 1925. He spent his life in the Tipton community.

He is survived by his mother, 2 brothers, Ralph Vittengl, Cedar Rapids and Melvin Vittengl, Maquoketa; 2 sisters, Mrs. Delbert (Rosella) Moore, Stanwood and Mrs. Keith (Luella) Furmeister, Iowa City.
