Mrs. Pearl Kinsey Irey, 84, a lifelong resident of the West Liberty-West Branch area, died early May 24 in a West Branch nursing home after an extended illness.

Funeral services were May 26 at the Barker Funeral Home in West Branch with the Rev. Charles F. Haigh of the West Branch Methodist church officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.

Mrs. Irey was born on a farm near Centerdale Dec. 15, 1880, the daughter of Lewis and Ella Kinsey. She attended school at Springdale and was a member of the 1898 graduating class at West Branch high school.

Oct. 2,1902, she married Chester Irey, who died in 1921. She was a member of the Centerdale Federal Woman's Club and the Fortnightly Literary Club of West Liberty.

Survivors include 2 sons, Glenn of Centerdale and Wayne of West Liberty; 3 granddaughters, 3 great-granddaughters and one great-grandson.
