Funeral services for Sylvan F. Jeppe, 66, Bennett town clerk, were held Feb. 15 at the Sheets and Son funeral home with the Rev. Robert Ahrendt officiating.

Pallbearers were Donn and Darrel Kleppe, Danny and Dr. Neil Voita, Richard Heisch and Wayne Bequeaith. Mrs. Ernest Reidesel Jr. was organist and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hillyer were in charge of flowers. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Mr. Jeppe died Feb. 12 in Mercy hospital at Davenport after a lingering illness.

The son of Otto M. and Carrie Meyer Jeppe, he was born at Wheatland Oct. 1, 1898 and was educated in the Wheatland schools. He was married to Margaret Heisch in Davenport Aug. 15, 1935. They had lived in Bennett since 1932.

He was Bennett city clerk at the time of his death, secretary of the Bennett school board for 12 years and city weighmaster from 1950 to 1963. He was a member of Peace United Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Doris, Davenport; a brother, Max, Wheatland; 2 sisters, Gladys Jeppe and Mrs. Lumir (Florence) Voita, both of Wheatland, 2 nephews and a grandniece.
