Death of an Old Settler —On Tuesday, Nov. 2d, Mr. Wm. Kizer, one of the Old Settlers of Cedar County, died at his residence, about six miles west of Tipton, in the sixty ninth year of his age.

Mr. Kizer was born in Virginia, March 16th, 1803. Possessed of adventurous spirit, he emigrated to Ohio while a young man, and thence to Iowa In 1838. Making his home in this county, his place became one of the land marks of the new country with which he grew into the comfortable competency which our sturdy pioneers so hardly earn and so richly merit. His death makes another break in the circle
of early settlers, from those weakening members each loss Is becoming more plainly noticeable.
