Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Zion United Church of Christ in Lowden for Ernest C. Proesch, 59. Burial was in the Van Horne cemetery at Lowden.

Mr. Proesch died March 27 at University hospitals, Iowa City.

He was born Oct. 6, 1904 in Lowden, and married the former Laverna Lueth, Sept. 2, 1925, in Lowden. He was a farmer until his recent retirement.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Norman, Silvis, Ill.; 3 granddaughters; 4 sisters, Mrs. Elmer Stanlake, Wheatland, Mrs. Dewey Puls, Maynard and Mrs. Louis Krutzfield and Mrs. Lawrence Schoff, both of Lowden, and 2 brothers, John and Herman, both of Lowden.
