9 January 1964 - The Tipton Conservative

William Henry Sissel, 72, died at his home in Tipton Jan. 4 following a heart attack. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, in the Sheets and Dahn funeral home with the Rev. George W. Fisher in charge. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were J. D. Cline, Charles Gibbons, George Lemkau, John Schneider, Henry Fields and Earl Reynolds. Mrs. Wendell Willer was vocalist and Elaine Ziba was organist. Mr. and Mrs. John Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hodler were in charge of the flowers.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Turner Sissel, he was born in Tipton Oct. 14, 1891, and spent his life in the Tipton community. He was married to Daisy Mae Simons at Clarence Feb. 16, 1915. He was a member of the Methodist church.

He spent his life as a painter and decorator.

He is survived by his wife; 4 sons, Gale, New Hampton; Dale, Marion; Lester Eugene, Tipton; and William, Jr., Tulsa, Okla.; 5 daughters, Mrs. Dewey (Alice) Bishop, Tipton; Mrs. Elza (Maxine) Dawson, Tipton; Mrs. John (Betty Jane) Clements, Baldwin Park, Calif.; Mrs. Loren (Helen) Reynolds, Tiffin, and Mrs. Ronald (Shirley) Schlueter, Tipton.

Also surviving are 3 brothers, Martin Jefferson, Buckner, Mo.; Henry Walter, Paris; Raymond Howard, Tipton; 3 sisters, Ida Mae French, Ruthven; Esther Oral Maurer, Tipton, and Ruth Elizaberth Martens, Golden, Colo.; 30 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Millard, and 2 sons, Robert and Roger.
