Funeral services for Alvin James Johnson, 80, were held Nov. 24 at the Sheets and Dahn funeral home with the Rev. A. R. Stratemeyer in charge. Burial was in the Masonic cemetery. Fellow members of the Moose lodge acted as pallbearers. Graveside services were by the Moose lodge.

Mrs. Irma Crawford was organist and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Myers, Mrs. Marjorie Kruse and Mrs. Harley Moreland were in charge of flowers.

Alvin James Johnson, the son of Alfred G. and Josephine Lett Johnson was born at Morning Sun April 30, 1882. He was married to Lela Buzere in 1909. She preceded him in death. He was married to Iva Nagel at Lisbon Oct. 2, 1960.

He spent most of his life in the Tipton community and, for the past 15 years, was a monument dealer for the Rock of Ages company at West Liberty.

Mr. Johnson was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, the Loyal Order of the Moose and the West Liberty Masonic lodge.

He is survived by his wife, a brother, Carl, Iowa City; 2 sisters, Mrs. Edna L. Ryner and Mrs. George C. Eden, both of Lone Tree, 4 step-daughters and several nieces and nephews.
