Funeral services for John W. Greig, 79, will be held at the Chapman funeral home in Clarence at 1:30 p.m. today (Thursday) with Gordon Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Clarence cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Grover Penningroth, A. W. Kemmann, Harry Hansen, Lavern Kintzel, Kermit Rohlf and Leonard Shaefer. Mrs. Grover Penningroth and Mrs. George Ruprecht will be in charge of flowers.

Mr. Greig died Nov. 26 at St. Luke's hospital after an illness of 6 days. Death was due to a stomach ailment.

The son of John and Margaret Ferguson Greig, he was born near Clarence Feb. 15, 1883 and spent his life in Cedar county. He was a lifetime farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys, a son, Durwood, 3 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, 2 sisters, Mrs. Jeanette Hoyman, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Margaret Sylvester, Clarence and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
