Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Christensen, 70, a 50-year resident of Durant, were held at St. Paul's Episcopal church in Durant Nov. 9 with the Rev. Richard J. Anderson officiating. Max Lauser sang the hymns for the service.

Pallbearers were Otis Ellis, George Hass, Walter Mangles, Harry Larson, Harvey Paustian and Richard Denkmann. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

Mrs. Christensen died Nov. 6 in her home following an extended illness. She was born Oct. 30, 1892 in Millersburg, Ill., the daughter of John and Luly Bridgford.

Hazel Bridgford and Edward Christensen were married Oct. 30, 1912 in Durant, where they operated a grocery store until 1950. Mr. Christensen died in 1955.

Mrs. Christensen was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal church and Pythian Sister Temple No. 178 in Durant.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Arlie (Pearl) Rochholz, Culver City, Calif.; 2 sons, Vernon, Moline, Ill. and Robert of Walcott; 5 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Roy Christison, West Liberty, and a brother, Lyle Bridgford of Davenport.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
