November 8, 1962 - The Tipton Conservative

Funeral services for Mrs. Stella Elizabeth Lind, 74, were held Nov. 3 at the Sheets and Dahn Funeral home with the Rev. Raymon Ferguson in charge. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery at Mechanicsville.

Pallbearers were Walter Rismiller, Glen Zerbe, Earl Thomas, Ralph Werling, George Thordsen and Charles Leabhart. Laura Geller was organist.

Mrs. Lind died at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids Nov. 1 after a lingering illness.

The daughter of George and Sarah Albaugh Zerbe, she was born April 28, 1888 at Mechanicsville. She was married to Robert Lind at Davenport Jan. 10, 1911.

A life-long resident of the Tipton community, she was a member of the Presbyterian church and was a past chief of the Pythian Sisters.

She is survived by 3 sons, Robert, Lisbon; Lloyd, Ocola, Fla. and James, Madison, Tenn.; 4 daughters, Mrs. Edward (Edna) L. Gallagher, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Zeno (Viola) Mack, Park Ridge, Ill.; Mrs. Vernon (Esther) Rushing, Atlanta, Ga. and Mrs. Galen (Dorothy) Alexander, Olin; a sister, Lillie Zerbe, Cedar Rapids, 14 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband.
