Funeral services for Joseph Allen Maley, 85, were held May 31 at the Sheets and Dahn funeral home with the Rev. I. O. Espeseth in charge. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Allen Rumble, Donald Willcutt, Archibald Safley, Forrest Chamberlain, Earl Thomas and Douglas Thompson.

Mr. Maley died May 28 at the Douglas Thompson home where he had been living for about 2 years. He suffered a stroke several weeks ago.

The son of Adolph A. and Anna Kapsen Maley, he was born at Iowa City March 10, 1878. He was married to Christean Wirth July 4, 1904. She died May 13, 1952.

He is survived by 2 sons, Harold and Leonard, Modesto, Calif.; a brother, Frank, Tipton; 2 sisters, Le Nore Smith of West Liberty and Della, Clarinda.
