July 30, 1936 - The Clarence Sun

Mrs. Julia Jansen died last week Tuesday at Milwaukee. The funeral and burial took place there last Saturday. Mrs. Jansen was the principal heir of the late Chris Peterson and came to Clarence to live before his death, making a home for him. She was the heir to the largest share of his quite large estate and her estate still holds a farm on 38 southeast of Stanwood and the home in Clarence. A little odd and old fashioned in her ways she made few close friends. When she began to fail in health a few months ago her good neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. August Ruther, made it their duty to look after her. When she got to the point where she should have closer care they notified her relatives in Milwaukee who had said they would come and get her when that time came. Thus she was taken to Milwaukee several weeks back where she continued to fail until death relieved her last week. The location of the Peterson home is a good one and there are lots south of this that are first class building spots that Mrs. Jansen had opportunities to sell but refused. The Peterson home will no doubt now be available to sell or rent to relieve some to scarcity in houses that has again come upon Clarence.
