Geane Turk, two-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Turk of near Tipton, was drowned in the cistern at the farm home late Saturday afternoon. It is believed that the child removed the light board covering the pit and lost his balance, causing him to fall into the cistern which contained 18 inches of water. The body was discovered by his mother who went to look for him, after he had been missing from the yard for a short time. Efforts to revive the boy with a pulmotor proved to be futile. Brief funeral services were held at the home near Tipton Sunday morning. The body was then sent to Osceola for services and burial.
