Funeral services for Alfred G. Meier, 76, Clinton, who died Jan. 23 after an extended illness, were held Jan. 26 in Clinton. Dr. M. E. Lesher, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran church, officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery, Camanche.

Mr. Meier was born Sept. 7, 1886 in Lowden, the son of Frederick and Wilhelmina Stoecker Meier. He was married Nov. 23, 1910 in Wheatland to Hertha Klahn.

Following their marriage they lived in Lowden, where he was associated with his father in the Meier Meat Market. They also lived in Stanwood where they operated an eating house, before moving to Clinton 40 years ago. He was a retired machinist from the Climax company, Clinton, and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church.

He is survived by his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Florence) Murphy, a son, Sylvan A. Meier, both of Clinton, a sister, Mrs. S. E. Sennett, Lowden, 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
