May 26, 1893 - The Clarence Sun

Died at Belle Plaine, Iowa, May 22, 1893, Mrs. Mary S. Corrin, nee Dargitz, wife of James E. Corrin. She was born near Tipton, Cedar county, Iowa, Nov. 21, 1854, and was married to her now bereaved husband Dec. 25, 1879. She leaves to mourn their loss, an aged father to whom she was strongly attached, three brothers and two sisters, husband and two children. Mrs. Corrin was a quiet unassuming Christian lady, a consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal church, a faithful wife, a kind and true friend and one of the best, careful and painstaking mothers. Her death was sudden and unexpected, the immediate cause was inflammation of the bowels; her sufferings were almost unbearable, but were borne with Christian fortitude. Her funeral was held May 23, at the M.E. church, Belle Plaine, conducted by Rev. R. W. Milner under whose ministrations she with her husband united with the church. She was buried at Clarence, Iowa, May 24th beside her mother, who preceded her some eleven years ago, and while their bodies rest from the toils and cares of this life, their happy spirits rest together in the paradise of God. Yet we feel that her sun went down while it was yet day.
