Wylene Joyce Hostler, 84, of Tipton, entered eternity on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 in her home surrounded by her family. Visitation and funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2019 beginning at noon for the visitation and the funeral service will start at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Scott Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Friends are invited to join the family for a time of food and fellowship at the Tipton United Methodist Church following the burial. A general memorial fund has been established in her memory. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com.

Wylene, daughter, of Herman and Wilma Edler Paustian, was born on November 8, 1935 at home in New Liberty, Iowa. She graduated from Bennett High School and married Larry Joseph Hostler in Tipton on November 6, 1955. Wylene spent most of her career as a Food Service Technician (cook). She worked for the Tipton School for many years and was a faithful employee of the Tipton Dairy Queen for too many years to remember. In between these jobs Wylene would help Margaret Johnston prepare and serve meals for many funeral luncheons at Fry Funeral Home. Larry and Wylene were long time members of the Tipton United Methodist Church.

Those left behind to mourn and remember Wylene are her two children, Jim (Vera) Hostler of Sedona, Arizona and Connie (Tim) Marolf of Moscow, Iowa; 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; brothers, Dallas Paustian of Anamosa, Iowa and Dennis Paustian of Walcott, Iowa. Wylene was recently preceded in death by her husband, Larry, on July 30, 2019, as well as both of her parents and her sister, Norma. Wylene will be remembered as a lady of character, honesty and one who was never afraid of any challenge or hard work.

A special thank you is given to the nurses and staff of the Iowa City Hospice for their care of both Wylene and Larry. Your compassion and care will never be forgotten.
