Funeral services for Mrs. Kristina Sondergaard, 83, a resident of the West Branch area for 60 years, who died Aug. 23 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City, were Aug. 25 in West Branch, Mrs. J. Taylor Guthrie officiating.

Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.

Mrs. Sondergaard was born July 9, 1878, in Denmark, the daughter of Christian and Marian Nielson Hobendall. She was married to Lars Sondergaard in Denmark in 1901. They came to American in 1902.

Survivors include a son, Magnus of West Branch; 2 brothers, Alfred Hobendall of West Branch and Louis of Onslow; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
