Funeral services for George W. Mitchell, 75, who died June 16 in DeKalb, Ill., after an auto accident, were held in West Branch June 19.

Burial was in West Branch cemetery.

Mr. Mitchell and his wife were injured in the accident June 8 near Shabbonna, Ill. His wife is in good condition at a DeKalb hospital.

Mr. Mitchell was born Jan. 19, 1886, at Altamont, Kan., and later moved with his family to LeRoy, Minn. He then moved to the West Branch area, where he farmed until retiring a few years ago.

May 9, 1906, he married Sara Etta Larson at Los Angeles, Calif.

He was a member of the Mennonite church.

Survivors include the widow; 6 sons, Marvin, Denver, Colo; Verl, Evansville, Ind.; Edward, Sandwich, Ill.; Russell, Madison, Wis.; Clyde, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; and Clifford, Rockford Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Harlan Hoeft, Aurora, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
