Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Artlissa Bealer, 86, were held May 20 in Tipton with the Rev. A. C. Long in charge. Pallbearers were Douglas Emrich, Ronald Emrich, Orval Emrich, Clifton Emrich, Russell Emrich and Horace Emrich.

Mrs. Bealer died May 17 at the home of her daughter in Milwaukee, Wis. She was born in Buchanan July 16, 1874, the youngest child of Henry Emrich and Mary Cochrane Emrich. Her mother was 5 years old when the family arrived from the east in 1838, one of the first families to settle in Iowa.

She attended Carthage college, Carthage, Ill., and later transferred to Cornell college, which her mother attended when it was a seminary.

Following her marriage to Millard Young Bealer, she lived in Cedar Valley where the Bealer stone quarries were located. Later the family lived in Tipton for years before moving to Cedar Rapids.

Preceding her in death were her husband and a son, Errol Myron Bealer of California. Surviving are her daughter, Lois Audrey Waite of Milwaukee, Wis., a son, Irving M. Bealer, Cedar Rapids, 2 granddaughters one grandson and nieces and nephews.

Burial was in the Buchanan cemetery.
