April 27, 1961 - The Tipton Conservative

Mrs. Emma Terhune, 68, died in her home in Waterloo at 1:15 p.m. Sunday, April 16. Services were held April 19 in the First Church of the Open Bible in Waterloo. The Rev. John Groen officiated. The burial was at the Garden of Memories in Waterloo.

She was born Emma Heyden Nov. 24, 1892, in Muscatine county. Her parents were Theodore and Anna Schult Heyden. She was married to Earl Terhune on June 11, 1919, in Tipton. She lived in Cedar county until she moved to Waterloo in 1936.

Surviving are her husband; 3 sons, Delmar and Clyde, Cedar Falls, Dale, Davenport; 2 daughters, Mrs. Grace Scott, Des Moines and Jean Terhune, Waterloo; 16 grandchildren; 2 brothers, William of Manchester and Otto of Tipton; 2 sisters, Mrs. Meta Rochholz and Mrs. Clara Freese of Tipton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one brother and 2 sisters.
