Funeral services for Mrs. Alford (Jesse Celia) Davis were held at the Sheets and Dahn funeral home April 26, with Gordon Smith in charge of services. Burial was in the Springdale cemetery.

Pallbearers were Louis Gamble, Ralph Yule, Rudolph McNee, Glen Kamerling, Howard Rinehart and Hurley Scott.

Mrs. Davis died April 25 at a Tipton nursing home after an illness of several years.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Millett, she was born June 15, 1902 near Springdale. She attended the rural schools.

She was married to Alford Davis of Mechanicsville Nov. 13, 1937. The couple lived in Springdale, Red Oak township, Tipton and Mechanicsville.

She is survived by her husband, 2 sons, Don and Roy, both of Chicago, Ill., a sister, Mrs. LaMar Wilkerson, West Liberty and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter.
