Granville Hayslett, 82, died Sept. 8 at a Lone Tree nursing home after a long illness.

He was born Oct. 14, 1877, in Rockbridge county, Va., the son of James and Elizabeth Hayslett, and was married Feb. 11, 1904 to Blanche Swisher.

Mr. Hayslett was a farmer and carpenter. He was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Elsie Sayles, West Branch; 2 sons, Ernest, Washington, and Gene, Cedar Rapids; a sister, Mrs. D. F. Gaylor, West Branch; three brothers, G. M. Hayslett, Iowa City; Albert Hayslett, West Branch, and H. A. Hayslett, Riverside, Calif. He was preceded in death by his wife, in 1959, and by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Funeral services were held Sept. 10 at the West Branch Methodist church with the Rev. L. E. Bauman officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.
