4 August 1960 - The Tipton Conservative

Mrs. Margaret Highly died at her home in Tipton Wednesday morning. Mrs. Highly, who was in ill health, took her life in the basement of her home about 5 a.m. Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed.

11 August 1960 - The Tipton Advertiser

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Highly, 71, were held Aug. 5, with the Rev. Ralph Adamson officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Mrs. Highly died at her home in Tipton Aug. 3. The daughter of John and Mary Walenta, she was born in Cedar Bluff April 28, 1889. She was baptized in the Huss Presbyterian church in Cedar Rapids. She spent her entire life in Tipton and the surrounding communities.

She was married to John Highly Feb. 2, 1933 in Rock Island, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and one infant daughter.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Leone Wentzel Eilers and Mrs. Lucille Wentzel Butterbrodt, both of Tipton; 4 grandsons, Dennis and Dean Eilers and Lynn and Vaughn Butterbrodt; 4 sisters, Mrs. Sophia Galbraith and Mrs. Lucy Safley, Tipton, Mrs. Emma Irvin, San Diego, Calif. and Mrs. Edna Armstrong, Cedar Rapids; 2 brothers, John Walenta, West Branch and Frank Walenta, Kearney, Nebr.
