Funeral services for Mrs. H. G. (Minnie) Lord, 67, were held June 17 at the Methodist church in Mechanicsville with Rev. Eugene Miller conducting the services, assisted by the Order of Eastern Star. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery, Mechanicsville.

Mrs. Lord had been ill for approximately 5 months, but her death came unexpectedly June 14 in her home in Mechanicsville.

Minnie Mallett, youngest daughter of Albert and Clementina Mallett, was born March 1, 1893, at Slymbridge, Gloucestershire, England. She came to the United States with her parents in 1908, and settled in Mt. Vernon, S.D. In 1909, the family moved to Lorimor, Iowa. Mrs. Lord was associated with newspaper work in Lorimor, Walnut, Manilla and was a former employee of The Press-Herald at Mechanicsville.

She is survived by her husband, Harry Lord and 3 children, Mrs. Ralph (Alexina) Edwards, Albia; Mrs. Allen (Naida) Hormann, Clarence; and Ivor B. Lord, Lisbon; 8 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lucy Berry and one brother, Albert Mallett, Lorimor; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother.
