Lawrence “Larry” Joseph Hostler, 92, lifetime resident of Tipton, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family late Tuesday night, July 30, 2019. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 4 at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, where family will receive friends from 2:00-5:00 pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 5, 2019 at 10:30 am, also at Fry’s. Graveside service with military honors being provided by the Tipton V.F.W. Post #2537 will conclude the service at Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. A general memorial fund has been established.

Larry was born on August 6, 1926 in Tipton, Iowa to Clifford and Cora (Albaugh) Hostler. Larry attended Tipton High School before serving his Country in the U.S. Army from 1945-1946. Larry married his lifetime partner of 63 years, Wylene Joyce Paustian on November 6, 1955. His employment years were spent at Hostlers Appliance until 1959 before his 35 year career at Wendling Quarry where he worked many positions. After retirement, you would often find Larry spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sitting on his front porch or taking his bride for a ride around town.

Surviving Larry is his beloved wife, Wylene, daughter, Connie (Tim) Marolf of Moscow, Iowa; son, Jim (Vera) Hostler of Sedona, Arizona; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and sister.
