Funeral services for George Andrew Pierce, 60, who died suddenly Sunday morning at University hospitals in Iowa City will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Sheets and Dahn funeral home in Tipton. The Rev. Howard Dukelow will officiate. Burial is in the Masonic cemetery.

Mr. Pierce was born in Tipton March 9, 1896, and lived his entire life in the Tipton community. His wife died in 1947.

He is survived by nine children: Raymond, Dodge City, Kans.; Mrs. Florence Bishop, Tipton; Edward and Max, San Gabriel, Calif.; Helen, Davenport; Donald, Tipton; Mrs. Louise Harker, Auburry, Calif.; Lewis, Davenport and Mrs. Alta Ridenour, Moline, Ill.

Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Messner, Tipton; two brothers, Ralph, Tipton, and James, Auburry, Calif and 19 grandchildren.
