Mrs. Clarence I. Morris, 71, a long-time resident of the West Branch area, died at Mercy hospital in Iowa City Sunday night after a lingering illness.
She was born July 1, 1885, at Stewart, a daughter of Jacob and Rebecca Corbitt Cook. Mrs. Morris was married to Clarence I. Morris at West Des Moines, Oct. 1, 1908. The couple established their home near West Branch.
Mrs. Morris was a member of the Society of Friends and the Women's Christian Temperance union.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Gerald, Deming, N.M.; six grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Emma Smith, of West Branch.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Friends meeting house with burial in the West Branch cemetery.
