William J. Lenchow, 78, died Monday of a heart attack in his home southwest of Lowden.

Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Zion Evangelical & Reformed church, Lowden, with the Rev. N. S. Roberts officiating. Burial was in Van Horne cemetery.

Mr. Lenchow was born Feb. 8, 1878 in Germany and came to this country with his parents when a year old. He was married to Wilhelmina Eserhaut in 1896. She died in 1943.

Survivors include two sons, Herman at home, and Hugo, who lives southwest of Lowden; one brother, Henry, Wilton and two grandchildren.
