Edward M. Stout, 77, died at his home in Tipton early Sunday morning following a heart attack. A retired farmer, he had lived in Tipton for many years.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Sheets & Dahn funeral home, with Elder U. J. Fike in charge. Burial was in the Masonic cemetery.

The son of George and Martha Stout, he was born in Cedar county July 5, 1879, and lived his entire life in the county. He was married to Hattie Bock Feb. 14, 1910.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Nellie Granger, Sioux City; two brothers, Ernest of Davenport, and William of Waverly, and a sister, Mrs. Anna Reeve, Sumner.
