Funeral services were held in Davenport Monday for Mrs. Alfons Knappe, 58, a native of West Branch. She died Saturday in Mercy hospital in Davenport. She had been in ill health for several years.

Mrs. Knappe was born July 4, 1897 in West Branch and lived in West Branch, Solon and Iowa City until 1907. Since then she has lived in Davenport.

The former Elizabeth Ellen Gilbert, she was married to Alfons Knappe in Chicago Nov. 22, 1922.

She is survived by her husband, two sisters, Mrs. Angela Widenhoft, Rock Island, Ill., and Mrs. Margaret Jorgensen, Iowa City.
