Funeral services for Dr. Agnes I. Safley, 80, Cedar Rapids physician and a native of Tipton, were held Saturday at Cedar Rapids. Burial was in the Red Oak cemetery at Tipton.

Dr. Safley died Thursday in a Cedar Rapids hospital after a short illness.

Born at Tipton May 14, 1875, she resided in Cedar Rapids more than 50 years.

Affiliated with Westminster Presbyterian church, Dr. Safley was a life member of the American Medical association, was a member of the State Medical society, the Linn County Medical society, was on the staff of St. Luke's hospital, was a member of Degree of Honor and of the Emeritus club of the University of Iowa. Graduate of Tipton high school, she attended the University of Iowa, completing work in the college of medicine in 1904.

Surviving are a son, Robert S. Safley of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Mrs. Margaret J. Echlin of Newborough, Ind.; several nieces and nephews, and three grandchildren, James, Thomas and Patricia Jean Safley of Cedar Rapids.
