Funeral services for Geoffrey R. Meek were held at 1 p.m. Monday in the First Methodist church in West Branch, conducted by the Rev. Leroy E. Bauman and the American Legion, with burial at West Branch.

Geoffrey R. Meeks was born at Hereford, England, Jan. 10, 1895, the son of Alfred and Emily Slade Meek. He came to this community after his arrival in the United States in 1913, and most of his life since then was spent here. He was a veteran of World War I and died in the Veterans hospital at Iowa City Jan. 14. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Cordelle Almond of Edmondton, Canada.
