Services for Mrs. Anna Strunk, 81, resident of Durant the past 26 years who died at 8 p.m. July 19 in her home, were held Saturday in Durant. Burial was in Durant cemetery.

The former Anna Thumann, born Nov. 11, 1875, in Germany, came to the United States and Cedar county 60 years ago. She was married in Germany, June 11, 1895, to Peter Strunk and they farmed in Cedar county until 1909 and in Muscatine county from 1909 until retiring in 1931.

Surviving are five sons, Gustav, Lowden, Rudolph, Amandus, and Erwin, all of Durant, and Emol of Jansen, Nebr.; a daughter, Mrs. William Shace, Lowden; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. P. L. Peterson, Durant.
