Mrs. Clate Miller, 77, of Pottsville, Ark., a native of Cedar county, died at her home Dec. 13.

Anna B. Carney, daughter of Jasper and Frances Hines Carney, was born at Rochester Jan. 21, 1880. She was graduated from Tipton high school in 1899, attended Iowa State Teachers college and taught in the schools of Cedar county for several years.

In 1905 she was married to Clate Miller at Winthrop. They spent most of their married life on a farm near Winthrop, moving to Arkansas seven years ago.

She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. L. N. Thompson, Pottsville; two sisters, Mrs. J. E. Morton, Tipton, and Emma Miller, Winthrop, and two grandsons, Eric and Terry Thompson.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Iradelle and Marion.
