Mrs. Elizabeth D. Hasel, 91, a resident of Durant for 52 years, died Monday in her home following an extended illness.

She was born Jan. 13, 1866, in Germany and came to the United States with her parents as an infant, coming directly to Durant.

The former Elizabeth Thiessen was married to Herman Hasel Jan. 13, 1890, in Davenport. They farmed near Sunbury, retiring in 1905.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Frank Lausen, Tipton, Ida Hasel and Mrs. Harry Paustian, Durant; four grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary Meinert, Durant, and one brother, C. C. Theissen, Iowa City.

Services were held Wednesday. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.
