Oley Petersen, 70, died suddenly at his home in West Branch Tuesday evening. He was born in Denmark, Sept. 14, 1887, and married Laura Olsen in February, 1910, in West Branch. They farmed in the West Branch vicinity until retirement in 1943 when they moved to West Branch. Mr. Petersen was active in Masonic lodge and Eastern Star circles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister and by his wife in 1952. Survivors are two sons, Louis, Racine, Wis., and Ernest, West Liberty; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one brother, Carl, in Denmark.

Masonic funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday with burial in the West Branch cemetery.
