Last rites were held Saturday afternoon at Clarence for Frank Somes, 83, with the Rev. Tom Stewart in charge. Burial was in Red Oak Grove cemetery.

He died at Tipton Thursday.

The eldest child of Myron F. and Sarah Carl Somes, he was born in Stanwood Feb. 13, 1874. He spent his life in Cedar county.

He is survived by several cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert; three sisters, Cancace Houser, Winner, S.D., and Lena and Grace of Stanwood.

Pallbearers were L. W. Meyer, Carl Haesemeyer, Forest Tenley, Glen Tenley, Donald Welty and Earl Paist.
