Clarence, Ia. Sept. 25--On Saturday, Sept. 16, the little son and only child of Mr. and Mrs. William Toerber, met with a deplorable and fatal accident. The accident happened soon after dinner, when Mrs. Toerber took a dish of boiling water from the stove and placed it on the floor and went to the summer kitchen to get a mopstick. Not intending to be gone any length of time and seeing her little boy sitting contentedly on the lounge, the mother did not see any danger in it to be a away from the room for just a few minutes. But scarcely had she left the room when she heard a scream and on her return found the little boy dying in the tub of water. He was badly scalded all along the back and on the limbs. Although the doctor was soon at hand, and did all he could do, he could give but very little hope for recovery to the much afflicted parents. The prediction proved to have been but too true, for on Monday the little boy died. He was 2 years, 3 months and 26 days old.
