Marvin L. Andre, 56, of Mechanicsville died Saturday morning in a Cedar Rapids hospital. He had been in poor health for a number of years.

He was born near Mechanicsville Dec. 8, 1900, and was married Sept. 10, 1925, to Beryl Anderson of Lisbon. The family home is on a farm seven miles southwest of Mechanicsville.

Mr. Andre is survived by his wife; one son, Paul, associate farm editor of the Cedar Rapids Gazette; a daughter, Mary Jeanette, at home; two sisters, Esther and Pearl, Mechanicsville, and two brothers, Melvin, Mechanicsville, and Leo, Olin.

Services were held Jan. 15 in the Methodist church at Lisbon. Burial was at Lisbon.
