Funeral services for Henry Heuer, 82, well-driller and former Tipton city councilman, were held July 15, with the Rev. A. C. Long in charge. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.
Mr. Heuer died at his home in Tipton Monday, July 13. He had been in failing health for more than a year. He suffered a stroke July 10 and a second stroke July 13.
He was born in Dixon Jan. 18, 1877, and had lived in the Tipton community for 48 years.
Mr. Heuer spent most of his adult years as a well driller and was considered one of the best men in "finding water" in Cedar county.
He was a world traveler. He made a trip around South America, visiting Argentine and Brazil. Later he took a trip around the world. He also traveled widely in the United States, spending 7 winters in California.
He was a 50-year member of Cedar Lodge A.F. & A.M. No. 11 and the Methodist church.
He is survived by 2 sisters, Anna Heuer, Tipton, and Mrs. Emma Raap, Davenport, and 3 brothers, John, Torrington, Wyo., Charles, Eureka, Calif., and E. L., Cedar Rapids.
